چکیده

Temperature has crucial effects on gonadal development and reproduction of abalone. To understand the impact thermal stress molecular physiological processes triggering regulation reproduction, changes in mRNA expression neuroendocrine genes encoding two abalone gonadotropin-releasing hormone ( Hdh-GnRH , Hdh-GnRH-like peptide ), GnRH receptor Hdh-GnRH-R Hdh-APGWamide serotonin 5-HT hdh a heat shock protein HSP70 were examined ganglia testis male Pacific Haliotis discus hannai ). Abalone exposed to low water temperature (LWT) high (HWT) early peak breeding seasons for 7 days. Then, gonadosomatic index (GSI) was calculated, relative gene measured by qRT-PCR, levels testosterone hemolymph also ELISA during season. GSI did not show any significant However, it significantly decreased LWT- or HWT-exposed compared normal (NWT) group In season, all five between LWT HWT groups day-7. NWT group, expressions different tissues both abalone, such as cerebral ganglion (CG) testis; pleuropedal (PPG) branchial (BG); CG, PPG, PPG testis. Interestingly, increased but group. Expression after exposure HWT. Hemolymph those Altogether, these results denote that repressive effect maturation regulating testosterone.

Cloning and expression analysis of a small HSP26 gene of Pacific abalone (Haliotis discus hannai).

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are evolutionally conserved from micro organism to mammals and play important roles in many biological processes including thermal tolerance. We isolated a homologue of small HSP26 (sHSP26) from a subtracted cDNA library of heat shock-treated abalone (Haliotis discus hannai). The abalone sHSP26 encompossed 793 nt, including a coding region of 501 nt. The deduced amino...

Alternative Splicing Profile and Sex-Preferential Gene Expression in the Female and Male Pacific Abalone Haliotis discus hannai

In order to characterize the female or male transcriptome of the Pacific abalone and further increase genomic resources, we sequenced the mRNA of full-length complementary DNA (cDNA) libraries derived from pooled tissues of female and male Haliotis discus hannai by employing the Iso-Seq protocol of the PacBio RSII platform. We successfully assembled whole full-length cDNA sequences and construc...

Effects of waterborne nickel on the physiological and immunological parameters of the Pacific abalone Haliotis discus hannai during thermal stress

In this study, the 96-h LC50 at 22 and 26 °C values was 28.591 and 11.761 mg/L, respectively, for NiCl2 exposure in the abalone. The alteration of physiological and immune-toxicological parameters such as the total hemocyte count (THC), lysozyme, phenoloxidase (PO), and phagocytosis activity was measured in the abalone exposed to nickel (200 and 400 μg/L) under thermal stress for 96 h. In this ...

iTRAQ-Based Identification of Proteins Related to Muscle Growth in the Pacific Abalone, Haliotis discus hannai

The abalone Haliotis discus hannai is an important aquaculture species that is grown for human consumption. However, little is known of the genetic mechanisms governing muscle growth in this species, particularly with respect to proteomics. The isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) method allows for sensitive and accurate protein quantification. Our study was the first to ...

Genome sequence of pacific abalone (Haliotis discus hannai): the first draft genome in family Haliotidae

Background Abalones are large marine snails in the family Haliotidae and the genus Haliotis belonging to the class Gastropoda of the phylum Mollusca. The family Haliotidae contains only one genus, Haliotis, and this single genus is known to contain several species of abalone. With 18 additional subspecies, the most comprehensive treatment of Haliotidae considers 56 species valid [ 1 ]. Abalone ...
